“Viktualienmarkt” hearts inspired by German artisans

September 2015,  I have fond memories of visiting the Viktualienmarkt in Munich, Germany,   where I saw so many lovely wooden hearts strung with colorful ribbon, natural objects, and straw and leaves.  Some of them even were dipped in potpourri and lavender.  Inspired by my trip there, I decided to re-create some of memories for the hearts by using crafts at the fabric store, and some materials from the woods (such as dried berries, acorns, and pine cones).   I have a wood burner kit that allows me to carve out intricate details to the hearts.
