CBS News Rewind 1966: Saving Christmas Trees

I found a CBS News Christmas video  from 1966 that shows the media used to genuinely care about the environment, found in this CBS’ public promotion of the network station during the holiday season.

This video shows in the comments field “Can you believe that there once was a time when network television aired classy holiday interstitials like this ?”

I couldn’t agree with you more, R.O. Blechman and Willis Pyle, who were the creators of this classic animation where instead of a tree being sawed down for another Christmas tradition, we see the man play with his saw as an instrument for the birds who reside in the tree.
