Bilingual Storytime for little learners in Pittsburgh

The Carnegie Library of Squirrel Hill offers a monthly French storytime event for children on Saturdays.  As a library volunteer, I had the pleasure of reading two books A Big Guy Took My Ball! / Quelqu’un a Pris Mon Ballon and a Bear in the Sunshine /  L’ours au Soleil to excited toddlers.  The other part of the lesson were “comptines et chansons”.  I taught the kids Le Petit Cochon,  Brille, Brille Petite Étoile, and 1,2,3 Allons Dans Les Bois.  The team also added the famous Frère Jacques song.  I love learning French and I hope to carry my experiences with me in Canada.   As a former member of the Alliance Francaise of DC, the librarian has a list of popular sites to choose from (see below for links). I hope that I can read more books to kids and encourage their language growth!
