Bilingual storytime: Vive le vent!

This month’s storytime at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh we sang French songs about the holidays!  “Vive le vent” was popular with the children because they had small hand bells to ring. “Vent” means wind in English.

The other song we sang was “Neige, Neige, Blanche” in English “White Snow”.  Then it was off to our usual storybook time. I read David va à l’école by David Shannon, and Pat le chat, je danse tout le temps by Kimberly and Jams Dean.

About 20 children and their families participated in the event held once a month at the library.  After we finished our stories and singing, hand stamps were given to eager little hands!
